Memory Aid Photo Phone

The Memory Aid Photo Phone is amplified making sound not only louder, but also more clear and easier to understand. This phone makes a great gift for memory loss, such as occurs in dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. This picture phone has up to 26dB of amplification for those with mild hearing loss. There is also a bright visual flasher making finding the phone in a dark or dimmed room easier. The picture/photo buttons are programmable and the high contrast buttons make dialing easier for anyone with low vision.

Simple, easy-to-use phone
This is a relatively simple, easy to use memory aid phone for anyone with forgetfulness. There are no bells and whistle features to complicate the phone, as the more features the phone has the more difficult to understand. This phone would be a good choice for anyone with memory loss, dementia or early Alzheimer's. There are extra large, high contrast buttons for easy reading, an illuminated emergency button and nine programmable one-touch photo memory buttons which are especially useful for anyone with dementia or early Alzheimer's.

Gift for Grandparents
Grandparents love seeing pictures of their family. This is a great gift to give them joy when they call their grandchildren and family. Easy to use phone, no high tech features for technophobes. Caregiver's also find this product for Alzheimer's Disease useful in their daily living activities, helping the dementia patient feel a sense of independence.

Can be used in nursing homes, assisted living facilities senior care and residential homes

This is an analog phone for residential home use. Some assisted living/nursing home, senior care facilities are in commercial type buildings and may have digital phone lines. Ask the facility what they have. If it is digital, contact the phone company to see if a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) DSL filter that plugs into the telephone jack at the wall wouldt allow the phone to work at the facility. These are inexpensive, and can be purchased at WalMart, Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc.

Will this work on my telephone line?
This phone ONLY works on an analog telephone line, which is customary in most residential homes. Generally does NOT work with DSL (digital subscriber Lines). If you have a DSL telephone line, contact your phone company first before purchase to see if adding a DSL filter would allow the phone to work. Does not work with VoiP, Magic Jack or similar.

Can you get an outside line?

Yes, this phone allows you to "dial out". When programming the photos just add the number to get an outside line to the telephone number you are calling. As an example if you dial 9 to obtain an outside line 9 XXX-XXXX For a long distance number it would be: the dial out number before the area code

Photos button - low vision
The photo buttons are for dialing out only. They do not light up when used, or for an incoming call. Dimensions of photo buttons: Length 28mm (1.102 inches) X Width 20mm(0.787 inches)

Our Recommendation -- You need to know
IMPORTANT: As with any dial by photo phone, the user must be able to press the photos, not just lightly touch them. The 3.5mm jack may be used for a headset, earbuds or neck loop, however, it is a RECEIVE ONLY PORT, meaning you still have to talk through the handset. The programming is powered only by the electric through the telephone line. If unplugged, it will lose the programmed telephone numbers in memory over time.

The optional 9 volt battery you may install (not included) has a sole purpose of brightening the visual ringer. It does not hold the programmed telephone numbers. There is no back-up battery.

So Far So Good September 4, 2016

We purchased two of these phones for my mother-in-law, who is in an Assisted Living Facility.
We are going to install them this weekend.
She has trouble dialing phones, so we are planning on setting up the one-touch picture buttons, with the numbers of her kids.  That way she just has to pick up the receiver and push the button that has her kids name on it.

Sweet device!!!
