Large buttons can also be helpful for those people with hand tremors or Parkinson's because trembling hands can have a problem dialing accurately with small buttons.
There is also a Pre-Set Boost Override switch or button that allows you to pre-set the amplification that you need. Every time you pick up the phone that pre-set amplification level will be there - you won't have to keep pressing a boost button. The phone comes with this feature turned off.
