The ClearSounds AC100 is a basic, easy to use unlocked gsm cell phone.  Best basic cell phones for seniors or anyone wanting something easy to understand and use.  Making calls is easy anywhere on a GSM provider's network such as T-Mobile or AT&T, with the big buttons on the backlit keypad and large LCD display.

Clearsounds AC100 - amplified cell phone has up to 25dbB decibels of amplification.  There is a speakerphone in the handset which allows you to speak hands free when necessary.  These amplified best basic cell phones have a large LCD display with 15 contrast levels so you can customize the display as you need.  The keypad is backlit, and there are big buttons that are very practical for anyone with large fingers or hand tremors from Parkinson's or other neurological diseases that help dialing accuracy.  Teeny, tiny keys make it difficult without pressing two keys at one time.  There is also a strong vibrating feature on this basic cell phone.

ClearSounds AC100 amplified best basic cell phones have 7 level ringer volume control, and 12 ring controls for further customization.  There are 4 one-touch memory dial buttons and 1 large one-touch emergency dial button that provides safety and peace of mind knowing that you can call for assistance quickly and easily.  The large emergency button is placed on the back of the phone and it is recessed into the phone to help prevent accidental activation.

What is an unlocked cell phone?  An unlocked cell phone is a cell phone where you can select your own wireless provider. After purchasing the AC100, simply go to any GSM wireless provider to sign up for a monthly service plan that fits your needs.  In the US, choose from GSM providers AT&T and T-Mobile. Consumer Cellular through AARP is also a gsm provider. 

NOTE:  Usually, with a regular locked cell phone, you have to use the service of the wireless provider where you purchased the phone, and it won't work on any other network.

Love the buttons & volume control January 4, 2012

This was a gift for my parents and is just what they needed.  Basic functions, nice big buttons, loud & clear.  
It is easy to use for my Mother (who has tremors) and my Father (who has no feeling in his fingertips).  Dad likes it because it doesn't have any confusing bells & whistles.  Mom likes it because she is actually learning to send text messages.
We just went to T-Mobile for a SIM card and added it to our family plan.
