The Clarity XLC2 amplified cordless big button speakerphone with loud caller id has amplification up to 50dB (decibels) for up to severe hearing loss.  This phone also has outgoing amplification of 15 decibels for people with weak voices, such as elderly and invalids.  The Clarity XLC2 has talking Caller ID  and a very loud adjustable ringer up to 85+ decibels for those that are very hard of hearing.  The Clarity XLC2 big button cordless speakerphone provides loud and clear sound while keeping things SIMPLE.  The ergonomic design makes it comfortable to use and the big buttons provide easy dialing for anyone with low vision, arthritis or hand tremors such as Parkinson's.  Large buttons can also be helpful for those with MS and Cerebral Palsy.

There is a backlit keypad which makes the phone easy to dial in dim light, or a dark room.  The Clarity XLC2 big button speakerphone has a large circular visual ringer which is an advantage at night in a dark bedroom - when the phone rings the visual ringer lights up brightly on the phone handset and also on the base,  the phone can be easily answered in the dark without knocking the alarm clock or water off the night stand. 

This speakerphone with loud talking caller id is convenient because it announces the phone number of the incoming call and then you can use the speakerphone in the handset to talk hands free.  How many times has the phone rung while you are in the middle of making a meal, sorting laundry or making the bed.  This way you can keep on doing whatever it was you were doing and talk at the same time.

There is a pre-set Boost Override Button on the bottom of the base of this amplified phone.  This sets the state of the boost function at the beginning of each call.  If you don't want the boost on all the time, you can turn that switch off.  

Hearing Aid Compatible, with the high rating of TIA-1083 Compliant which gives superior hearing aid compatibility.  There is also tone control so you can customize according to your hearing needs.  The XLC2 big button cordless speakerphone is desk/table/wall mountable for your convenience.

This is a well-made phone for seniors and it has a low return rate.    

IMPORTANT NOTE:  We do not recommend using the Boost Override Switch if there are normally hearing persons in the household that would use the phone.  If a normally hearing person listens to a highly amplified phone it could damage the hearing of the normally hearing person.

This is not a line powered phone that gets its power from the telephone lines.  This cordless phone has an AC adapter - which means it gets its power from the electrical outlet.  This amplified phone also has dual power battery backup which means it can be used during a power outage.  Another advantage of a phone with an AC adapter is that more than one amplified phone can be used at one time.  Line-powered only phones don't have enough power for more than one amplified phone to be used at a time.   This manufacturer does NOT make an additional handset for this phone. Ships to Canada

Its wonderful even though my mother says she gets a delay in receiving her messages, I think it is because she still has hearing issues and doesnt hear the beeping sound. Besides the voice announcing the caller I'd ..I would also like it to show up visually on the phone as that is easier for someone with difficulty remembering or having diffulty with writing and talking at same time.
