The ClearSounds A600 DECT 6.0 Amplified Freedom Phone is cordless, and has an integrated digital answering system. The talking Caller ID is convenient for when you are busy and don't want to have to go over to the phone to see who is calling - you can hear it instead. The talking keypad helps make dialing more accurate, and is perfect for those with low vision.
This amplified phone for hearing impaired has maximum amplification, and controls background noise. The larger keypad buttons make dialing easier for those with larger fingers, or low vision. The keypad is also backlit, making it easier to see in dim light or a dark bedroom at night when the phone rings.
RECOMMENDATIONS: This is a nice cordless phone for those who are hearing impaired and need amplification. It also has larger buttons for low vision. We do NOT recommend this phone for the elderly with memory issues or difficulty understanding technology. This phone requires some programming. Cordless phones may be convenient for the elderly to carry in their walker basket, but in the case of elderly persons with dementia, can become confused with the tv remote, and if it falls onto the floor, or off a table and needs to be picked up can become a fall risk, especially at night. We recommend that the elderly have a simple to use corded phone by their favorite chair and by their bed. If they wear hearing aids, the phone by the bed should also be amplified since hearing aids are removed at bed time.
